Modern Slavery Statement

This statement sets out Jellycat’s ongoing commitment to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking within our business operations and throughout our global supply chain. It is issued in line with legislative requirements that apply to companies operating internationally, including laws in the United Kingdom and the United States that promote transparency and accountability in supply chains. At Jellycat, we believe that ethical conduct, respect for human rights, and integrity in production are fundamental responsibilities that extend to every stage of how our products are created and delivered.

Jellycat is committed to ensuring that no form of forced labour, human trafficking, or modern slavery is present within our operations or among the partners with whom we work. We recognise that the trust our customers place in our brand depends not only on the quality and safety of our products, but also on the values upheld behind the scenes. Protecting the dignity, safety, and rights of workers across all manufacturing locations is therefore a central priority for our business.

Our business operates across several regions, with offices, warehouses, and operational teams located in multiple countries. This international presence allows us to remain closely connected to both commercial activities and supply chain operations. Senior leadership in each location is responsible for maintaining awareness of modern slavery risks and for responding promptly to any concerns that may arise. Clear internal reporting expectations support swift action and reinforce a culture of responsibility at every level of the organisation.

Since the company was founded, Jellycat has focused on building direct, long-term relationships with manufacturers and suppliers. We believe that sustained partnerships based on transparency and trust are essential for identifying and addressing potential risks within supply chains. Our manufacturing and logistics network includes production partners in Asia, international shipping providers, and third-party warehousing facilities across several regions. This structure enables us to maintain visibility over how and where our products are made and handled.

Jellycat applies a zero-tolerance approach to forced labour, modern slavery, and human trafficking. All suppliers are required to comply with our Responsible Sourcing Code of Practice, which sets out clear expectations regarding ethical conduct, labour standards, and legal compliance. Before any new supplier is approved, detailed assessments are carried out to evaluate social and ethical performance, including potential risks related to exploitation. Suppliers are expected to communicate these standards within their own supply chains and to demonstrate alignment with Jellycat’s values.

Ongoing monitoring is an essential part of our due diligence process. Manufacturing sites producing Jellycat products are subject to regular independent third-party audits conducted under recognised social audit frameworks. These assessments may be announced or unannounced and include worker interviews, documentation reviews, and on-site inspections. In addition to third-party audits, senior Jellycat team members carry out visits to manufacturing locations to gain first-hand insight into working conditions and operational practices. This combined approach supports continuous oversight and accountability.

Where audits or assessments identify issues, Jellycat works collaboratively with suppliers to implement corrective actions within agreed timeframes. Certain violations, including any indicators of forced labour, child labour, human trafficking, bribery, or falsification of records, are treated with the utmost seriousness. In such cases, shipments may be halted while corrective measures are implemented to protect affected workers. Failure to resolve issues may result in further action, including the suspension or termination of business relationships.

Jellycat continues to strengthen internal capacity to manage ethical sourcing. In-country teams have been expanded to increase daily presence within manufacturing sites during production. These teams receive training on ethical standards, labour rights, and relevant legislation, enabling them to identify risks and support compliance on an ongoing basis. Regular engagement with production teams also supports responsible production planning and quality management.

Looking ahead, Jellycat remains committed to continuous improvement. We are reviewing and updating our Responsible Sourcing Code of Practice to provide clearer guidance on worker welfare, environmental responsibility, and sustainability expectations. Engagement with tier two suppliers and additional service providers will continue to expand, ensuring broader alignment with our standards across the supply chain. Training programmes and internal policies will also be reviewed and enhanced to reflect evolving best practices.

This statement reflects Jellycat’s commitment during the 2023–2024 financial year and demonstrates our determination to operate responsibly, transparently, and ethically. We will continue to assess risks, strengthen partnerships, and take proactive steps to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in all areas of our business.
